A River of Waste: The Hazardous Truth About Factory Farms.
This documentary exposes a huge health and environmental scandal in our modern industrial system of meat and poultry production.
Even though this documentary pertains particularly to the mass-“cultivation” of animals for food, many of these same environmental and social ramifications still apply to any other factory-farming outlet you can think of.
I read from “Voting Is An Act Of Violence” by Hans Sherrer, and add my own commentary. It all stems from Gogo’s post about the subject, found here. and I also read from this entry I made this morning (without coffee, thankyouverymuch) about learning about anarchism and a truly free state.
Thanks, Sarah!
Also in the show’s 3rd set, the Mellow Mezzanine!
(PS The show is 9 pm ET)

Although, I don’t understand why you would ever omit coffee from your life. <3

Big Island blogger Damon Tucker claims he was the victim of police brutality in Pahoa early Saturday morning and that he will be filing a lawsuit against the Hawaii County Police Department. Police say are investigating the incident, but the charge against Tucker alleges he was interfering with official police duty.
Tucker said he had just finished photographing a concert at the Pahoa Village Club.
He said he was walking to his car when he saw officers breaking up a fight.
“I started taking pictures and an officer asked me not to take pictures so I put my (camera) phone down. Then I heard a crash. It sounded like a bottle breaking or something like that. And I started video taping again, and about 5 or 10 seconds later all of a sudden all I knew is I was getting thrown to the ground, handcuffed on the sidewalk. Then I got lifted off the sidewalk … slammed back down to the ground again,” Tucker said.
Tucker was arrested and charged with obstructing government operations, a misdemeanor. After his release his wife took pictures that show scrapes, abrasions, and bruises on his back, shoulders, elbows, and knees.
Police in the Montreal suburb of Longueuil are investigating after a 57-year-old woman alleges she was thrown to the ground by several police officers during a fireworks show.
Marie Brais’s face is peppered with cuts, bruises and welts after she says she refused to present ID on Saturday to an officer for an alleged jaywalking offense.
The officer intercepted Brais and asked her to present identification in order to give her a ticket. She says she told the officer that she didn’t have ID and continued on her way. That’s when he allegedly grabbed her.
Two witnesses tell QMI Agency that the arrest was shocking. Marie-Eve Perrault snapped photographs of Brais’s injuries and sent them to QMI Agency. “The lady was thrown onto the asphalt by police and came away with a big bruise on her face, broken glasses, a broken tooth and arms with multiple injuries,” said Perreault, whose four children witnessed the incident.
